Cimmerians at Fort Ord, Sat. March 31st
    D-Day sent this:

The next practice/training session at Fort Ord will be next Saturday, 3/31. We will be focusing on communication, movement, tactics, and will have a small skirmish.  This is open to both new players and anyone else that would like to practice. For those that do not yet have equipment or haven't played before, you are welcome to come check it out as well.  We don't usually allow spectators so this is your opportunity to bring new people or just hang out. Be there by 0930.  BB's will be for sale.  Spectators and newbies welcome.  350 fps limit if you wish to skirmish.  Eye protection mandatory.  $10 field fee. Note:  Drive slowly while on the base and do not stop for directions. Be careful to respect any civilians present as the base is frequented by hikers, joggers, etc.  Follow the signs to 'Woodstalk Paint Tag.' Bring your own food, supplies, and plenty of water. The base has a Burger King but there are no other amenities/services whatsoever. Map/Directions attached. Please reply DIRECTLY to myself and *let me know* if you'd like to attend.  We have 5-10 confirmed so far. See you there! 1SG Dave 'D-Day' Dollarhide Cimmerians

    Play WarGames!
I'll be at the GDC conference in San Jose, California for the next few days.  In the meantime, check out "WarGames" -- the virtual warfare game that my company built for TBS Superstation.  This television event will challenge each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with realistic combat scenarios. The "games" that these soldiers will be playing are the same training exercises they use to prepare themselves for war.

    Hit this URL to play
    http://alt.superstation.com/WarGames/Game/

Plus, the top 104 scorers will receive prizes.  To activate the tournament mode, you must watch "WarGames" on March 28th to get the codewords.  Good Luck!

TERRORISTS ABDUCT U.S. AMBASSADOR'S FAMILY FOR RANSOM March 16, 2001 Associated Press Grolschia Province -- United States ambassador Heywood Jablome is recovering from severe wounds received this morning from an attack by Grolsch rebels in this former Soviet province.  Jablome was on a diplomatic mission in an attempt to broker a peace in the province which has been ravaged by war between the former Soviet government and Grolsch rebels. The Ambassador's convoy was decimated early this morning in a pre-dawn attack by small arms fire and rocket propelled grenades as it began its journey through the republic.  The Ambassador was traveling with his two adult sons, Whyd and Howd, who insisted on joining him despite the danger. As the terrorists systematically destroyed the convoy in a well planned ambush, Ambassador Jablome seized control of his vehicle from the lifeless driver and smashed his way through the barricade in a successful escape. Tragicly, his son Howd was killed in the attack, and Whyd was abducted.  There were no other survivors. The Grolsch rebels are now holding Whyd for ransom and have threatened to execute him if the ransom is not delivered within 24 hours.  As of press time, State Department officials had not disclosed any response.

WARNING ORDER FROM:  CIMCOM TO:  1st SPECIAL FORCE OPERATIONAL DETACHMENT - DELTA (SFOD-D)

SUBJECT:  IMMEDIATE ACTIVATION FOR SPECIAL OPERATIONS

ORDERS:  GROLSCH REBELS ARE HOLDING THE U.S. AMBASSADOR'S SON FOR RANSOM.  YOUR MISSION IS TO EXTRACT THE HOSTAGE AND ELIMINATE THE TERRORIST THREAT. SURVEYLLANCE INDICATES THE REBELS ARE TRANSPORTING THE HOSTAGE TO A WELL KNOWN AIR FIELD AND MAY ATTEMPT TO MOVE HIM TO ANOTHER LOCATION.  THIS MUST BE PREVENTED AT ALL COSTS. DELTA WILL BE INSERTED AHEAD OF THE TERRORISTS IN AN ATTEMPT TO AMBUSH THEM BEFORE THEY REACH THE AIRFIELD.  YOU MUST THEN RESCUE THE HOSTAGE AND TRANSPORT HIM TO THE CLOSEST LZ FOR EXTRACTION. PREPARE FOR IMMEDIATE DEPLOYMENT.

GAME RULES The Teams:  Delta Force (Americans) and Terrorists (Grolsch rebels.) Uniforms:  Not required -any military pattern camo.  Terrorists may wear black. Hostage:  Dan 'Lennox' Maksim will play Whyd Jablome.  He will be dressed as a cilivian. Delta Objectives:  Rescue the hostage, transport them to your LZ, defend them until airlift arrives. Terrorist Objectives:  Transport the hostage the the airfield, defend them until airlift arrives. Setup:  The airfield and the Delta LZ will be marked on the field. Delta will set up on the field, first, so they may prepare an ambush at the airfield.  The terrorists will then enter the field with the hostage. Rules:  3 hour session.  The winner is the team that has possession of the hostage at the end of the session.  Possession of the hostage at your LZ/airfield will be considered a 'major' victory and anywhere else on the field a 'minor' victory. The hostage may attempt to escape from the terrorists.  He may be stopped verbally and will obey all commands.  Shoot him *only* as a last resort and never closer than 50 feet away (FIFTY FEET FOR THE HOSTAGE!)  This will give him a chance to join up with Delta when they get close enough to 'capture' him.  The terrorists may re-capture him the same way. Both teams will have a First Aid station on the field and you must return there for 5 min. to reincarnate.

Directions and field info are at http://www.cimmerians.com/sched.htm Make sure you bring plenty of supplies.  Always have extra magazines (hi-cap) and batteries on you at all times.  Many players walk off during the game because they 'run out' of batteries or ammo so stock up; it really hurts your teammates when you can't help them during battle. Please reply back to me with any questions and I'll address them tomorrow in the briefing.

See you there! 1SG Dave 'D-Day' Dollarhide Cimmerians

    P90 Coming Soon!
Wow, it's hard to come back to reality after four days of snowboarding on fresh powder at Whistler. The dogsledding was a blast. Plus, I have some great recon for snow games. Unfortunately, I did not meet up with the BCAC crew due to a scheduling conflict. Perhaps, on the next trip.

Brother Billy Bob has some awesome news coverage regarding the long-awaited Tokyo Marui P90 on his website -- Billy Bob's AirSoft Jamboree. He also has stories on the Maruzen Type U M11 and the Tokyo Marui Samurai Edge. Go check it out!
