This is a very nice gun. Forget your Marui gas guns: this gun looks good, feels good,
and is good.
The gun weight is distributed equally throughout the gun, sits in the hand comfortably,
and has a stiff trigger (only single stage). The grips are a hard rubber compound,
making you grip on the gun tight and firm. The safety as with all Glocks is a bit quirky,
and hard on the fingers, especially in the cold.
The aesthetic look of the gun is excellent, especially with the aluminium slide. I think
this gun could take a lot aggressive use.
Unlike a lot of the Marui gas guns, the Glock 17 has a full size magazine which houses
the gas reservoir and 15 bb's. I've dropped the magazine a couple of times, and all the
bb's stayed exactly where they were and didn't fly everywhere. The gas will last around
35 bb's at full power. The gas system works very well with plenty of safety measures to
stop people over gasing the gun and causing damage.
The action of the gun is brilliant: pull the trigger and instantly a bb is in the air,
and the gun is reloaded, ready to go again. As soon as you run out of bb's the slide flies
back and your ready to reload.
Reloading the magazine is a bit time consuming: add a loading tube to the magazine,
drop in the pellets, and push another tube in to load the pellets. Faster than doing
it by hand, but not a good idea when running about being shot, as you're likely to lose
something. Get a couple of spare mags.
It's a hop-up model with the usual tuning screw for the barrel. The maintenance on the
gun is simple, and the manual shows you what to do so there's no excuse not to do it.
Overall this gun is mean, and is unsurpassed when running around the woodlands, shooting
your friends. It's compact and always ready to go, what more do you want. Waving this about
in a public place will definitely get you killed. It looks real and has the same motions
as a real gun so be careful.
